The UIA Congress in Paris was an opportunity to meet up again with colleagues with whom M. François Moyse has worked for many years and to make other interesting contacts with lawyers from all over the world.
At the meeting of the Governing Board, M. Moyse was able to present, in his capacity as Director of Rule of Law of the UIA-IROL institute, the latest developments in the adoption of the Council of Europe Convention on the Legal Profession.
Well done to Martin Pradel for overseeing the entire UIA-IROL team and its many missions.
Congratulations to the UIA management, outgoing President Jacqueline Scott, President Carlo Mastellone and future President Sylvain Tandeau de Marsac.
The joint ABA-UIA commission on ethics in the legal profession provided an opportunity to discuss the different approaches to this issue on the two sides of the Atlantic.
It was an opportunity for M. Moyse to take part in the panel organised by Steven Richman, along with Judge Peter Reyes and my colleagues Laurie Daniel, Thierry Aballea and Ashu Thakur.
The gala dinner at the Cercle Interallié was memorable.
Many thanks to Charlotte Callet, Jean-Jacques Uttwiller, Bernard Cahen and others for their company, and well done to conference chairman Hervé Chemouli.
